Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

Daddy Slaggy :Harare,Zimbabwe then later UK,I have always loved music so I Think it came naturally as I got older and following a musical path was like a taboo so being rebellious I think that’s why I picked up reggae dancehall music as it was still untapped in Zimbabwe.

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

Daddy Slaggy :Picking a name was the hardest at school I called myself Malves Hotspur then went on to Slaggy yout which I created using the first letters of the songs I had written then eventually Daddy Slaggy coz I’m a big man now

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

Daddy Slaggy: it’s good when it’s promotional stuff and if it can be controlled I used to give out a lot but then realised when you decide to sell your fans will think you now been corky so now it has to be a special freebie

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

No gig is too small a wise man told me don’t be discouraged when people are not dancing or jumping at your show some prefer just to listen, and also Believing in yourself is important

Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?

Not regularly coz I started as a live performer in a band before studio if I make a mistake I simply improvise as if it was part of the act.
